Knowledge-based Systems in Security & Defence (KBSSD 2015)

Introduction

Today, security and defence are being hot subjects both in the practical and scientific aspects of our life. Almost every day new threats to human have been permanently emerging within the broad areas of security and defence. The arising military and homeland threats (on land, in the air, on the water and in cyberspace) imply requirements of new solutions that support decision-makers on security and defence dilemmas. In order to manage both the strong interrelationships and uncertainty of threats, as well as ensuring defence capabilities, the new mathematical models and IT technologies are required. A lot of contemporary IT systems there are knowledge-based applications allowing anti-crisis and military processes to be executed with the assistance of information sensitive, intelligent computer tools.
